Our Delivery Process, Explained

Our Delivery Process, Explained

Every Jem'aime piece is made only once an order is received. Nothing is held in surplus. Nothing is produced in advance. This means that delivery can take up to two months.

We understand that this is longer than standard ecommerce expectations. It is also entirely intentional.

Why We Do Not Hold Stock

Jem'aime was founded on the belief that what touches a baby’s skin should be made with the same deliberation as any meaningful family object. This concept does not allow for overproduction, warehousing, or speculative manufacturing.

By producing only what is ordered, we avoid excess, waste, and unnecessary handling. Each piece begins its life with a purpose already assigned - to belong to one child, one family, one moment of early life.

This approach protects the integrity of the material and the intention behind it.

What Happens After You Place an Order

Once your order is received, production begins.

Our milk-derived fibres are prepared, knitted, finished, and assembled in small batches. The process prioritises gentleness, consistency, and stability - qualities that matter when a textile is intended for newborn skin.

Each stage is monitored, finished slowly, and allowed the time it requires. There are no shortcuts in a process that requires this much care.

Time as a Form of Care

In today’s retail landscape, immediacy is presented as a virtue, and fast delivery is often mistaken for efficiency or progress. Over time, this has shaped our expectations so thoroughly that waiting can feel like a failure rather than a choice.

At Jem'aime, we resist this reflex deliberately.

We do not treat time as an inefficiency to be eliminated. We treat it as part of the product.

Time allows materials to be handled with restraint, production partners to work within responsible rhythms, and each piece to take shape without compromise. The result is not simply a finished object, but one that is calmer, more stable, and materially better in every respect.

What time gives us cannot be replicated by speed. It allows quality to stand strong, integrity to remain intact, and care to be present at every stage. When something is made to touch a baby’s skin, this difference matters.

When your order arrives, it is not newly taken from a shelf: it has been made for you.

Our Commitment

We commit to transparency, care, and communication throughout this process. You will receive updates once your order enters production and again when it is dispatched.

If you require a piece by a specific date, we encourage you to contact us before ordering so we can advise honestly.

Contact customercare@jem-aime.com for any questions you might have and we would be happy to answer.
